Spider-Man Brand New Day Post-Credits Scene and Yelena Connection
The post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows us the Spidey Tracker app locating Spider-Man on Earth in Queens. Then she goes out. It glitches a bit. Then we are shown Spider-Man’s location in space, which is unknown. Now after seeing this, so many questions have arisen in my mind, the biggest of which is whether we will get to see Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday or not? And after overthinking this whole thing, I am 100% sure. The only question that arises is: which Spider-Man?
Now if I start with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, what connection do we see in Spider-Man: Brand New Day with this Spider-Man’s Doomsday? I wouldn’t say a lot, but one probable connection is Yelena. Meaning Spider-Man and Yelena are in contact with each other; they know each other. This means that Yelena knows that he is Spider-Man, and she can ask for his help in times of need. And I feel that a multiversal spaceship entering Earth’s orbit could be a perfect opportunity.
But even then, in the entire Doomsday trailer that we’ve seen, there’s no mention of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man anywhere. So if Yelena feels that Victor Von Doom is a big enough threat that we need Spider-Man’s help, she can definitely call him. But we did not see him anywhere. We already know that these people are hiding a lot of things in the trailer. There are definitely more people in this hall than what we are being shown. But if Tom Holland went and did a reshoot, it will be a very small role which will probably be revealed in the post-credit scene of Avengers: Doomsday or somewhere—not as significant as what we experienced in Infinity War.
Andrew Garfield Timeline and the Multiverse Consequences of Curing Villains
But if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man isn’t coming, that doesn’t mean Spider-Man can’t appear. There are two more—actually three more—Spider-Men to talk about. Starting off with Peter 3, Andrew Garfield’s take on Spider-Man. After watching No Way Home, I realized that what Tom Holland’s Spider-Man did was a very noble deed, but because of that, the fate of all these villains did not change in their original timelines. According to Marvel’s time travel rules, if you go back in time and change anything, the future does not change; instead, a new timeline is created. Right? So this means that if they cured Electro and Dr. Curt Connors and sent them back, it will not have any impact on their main timeline’s past, but five new alternate timelines will be created.
Let me explain everything one by one. Dr. Curt Connors was cured and went back to his timeline. In The Amazing Spider-Man 1, Andrew’s Spider-Man cured Curt Connors at the end. Curing him in No Way Home prevents him from becoming the Lizard again, so his life is saved. But will it make any significant difference to Andrew’s story ahead? I don’t think so, because Gwen Stacy is still dead, and curing a villain isn’t going to cure Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. He gets his emotional redemption in No Way Home.
Then comes Electro. In No Way Home, Max Dillon says that before coming to this universe, he was completely overcharged and absorbing all energy—right at the moment he was about to die in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Returning cured means he either survives as a normal person or dies from energy overload. But does Gwen Stacy survive? In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Harry Osborn’s Goblin arrives right after Electro dies, leading to Gwen’s tragic fall. So Electro’s recovery won’t change Gwen’s death.
Tobey Maguire Spider-Man and Doc Ock’s Arc Reactor Nanotech Suit
Next comes Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man (Peter 2). I think the probability of Tobey appearing in Avengers: Doomsday is extremely high. First, Tobey’s future timeline becomes much more intriguing after No Way Home. Second, there are strong industry rumors and toy leak listings featuring Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. Sandman was already saved in Spider-Man 3, so curing him changes little. But Norman Osborn is cured of his Green Goblin persona and returns right before his glider crash. If Norman survives, he mentors Harry Osborn properly, preventing Harry and Peter’s friendship from breaking over Norman’s death.
Furthermore, Norman can support Otto Octavius’ fusion experiment differently. And here is the most fascinating part: Otto Octavius (Doc Ock). When Doc Ock returned to his timeline from No Way Home, he was not only cured, but he also carried Tony Stark’s Stark Arc Reactor with him! The Arc Reactor represents clean, self-sustaining energy—the exact ‘power of the sun in the palm of my hand’ he spent his life trying to build. Furthermore, Tony’s Arc Reactor absorbs energy. Doc Ock can use the Arc Reactor to safely absorb and shut down his runaway fusion reactor in Spider-Man 2, saving his own life and becoming a hero!
Doc Ock and Peter Parker already had great scientific chemistry. In this alternate timeline, Doc Ock can design advanced tech for Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man—just like Otto does in Insomniac’s Spider-Man PS4 game! Having experienced Tom Holland’s Nanotech suit and iron arms in No Way Home, Doc Ock could build Tobey Maguire a Nanotech Iron Spider Suit powered by the Arc Reactor! A Nanotech Arc-Reactor-powered Tobey Maguire Spider-Man makes him capable of defending his universe during multiversal incursions!
Incursions, Battle World, and Secret Wars Setup
In the Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credits scene, after the Spidey Tracker glitches, Spider-Man is shown floating in space. This suggests his Earth may have already been destroyed in a multiversal Incursion, and he only survives because his Nanotech Iron Spider suit allows him to breathe in space—or he is aboard the Fantastic Four’s spaceship!
Could it be Miles Morales instead of Tobey or Andrew? The Russo Brothers are heavily relying on nostalgia for Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Miles Morales hasn’t been established in live-action MCU yet, so introducing him in Doomsday doesn’t fit the immediate storyline. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men provide the ultimate emotional payoff for Secret Wars and Doomsday!
